Skylar was knew to the school. She didn’t really like just doing the work or sitting in the dorms. She often liked to roam around the courtyard and such. Sometimes at night she would just get up and wander around the school.
One day, it was a Saturday, so school wasn’t going on, she walked into a strange room. She could hear machines whirring up into life. The machines didn’t hear like they had been used that much. She walked over to one of them. It was the one making the most noise. They might need a mechanic. Skylar thought, while chuckling on the inside, for this one machine sounded like a dying walrus. Despite the noise, they looked brand-new-shiny-and-silver, so it was strange it was making such a noise. Skylar touched one of the machines. Less than a millisecond after, a dart shot out of a tiny hole in the side. Okay then. thought Skylar, I guess these machines aren’t that old.
Skylar walked around a little bit more. It seemed as if there was at least one machine made for every kind of power imaginable. There was one machine in the back corner labeled: “Invisibility Detector”. Skylar laughed out loud. This all looked like fun, but how would this work? Skylar was about to walk out when she saw a big red button by the door labeled: “Activate”. She pressed it, and many, many more darts shot at her. This time, all the machines were alive. There was one that had a full-sized cardboard cutout of a man with a gun and—wait. The gun could shoot bullets! She realized that the cardboard cutout of a man was rolling all around the room on one wheel. Skylar then realized this was her chance to use her powers (for she had realized what this room was for) so she blasted the cardboard cutout in the face with about 8 gallons of water. It fell down.
The cardboard cutout starting rolling around again, so Skylar decided to leave. I guess I’ll come back later, then thought Skylar, while walking out the door.
