Power

Possession
Power Description
:
Liam has the ability to control and inhabit another person’s body. During possession, the host is rendered comatose, turning complete control over to Liam. It is not shape-shifting, but rather Liam essentially animating a comatose individual. When he possesses someone, he adapts his or her voice to his, so his voice isn’t a dead giveaway. He can also project his possession to animate objects, his primary way of combat. He has an eidetic (photographic) memory, and is an omni-linguist (he can speak every language on Earth, a skill handy to have as a possessor). Possession makes Liam an excellent candidate for being someone to operate behind enemy lines, because, like shape-shifters, he would be able to fool people into thinking he is whoever he’s possessing. Also, if he doesn’t have complete control in a possession, it causes dual-occupancy of the brain, which overloads it, resulting in excruciating pain for the host. A fatal flaw with Liam’s possessive abilities is that he is not physically strong. If he has to defend himself while possessing someone else, it usually includes giving himself away by animating an object. Also, for him to possess someone, he has to look right into their eyes, which is not exactly convenient in a combat situation. He generally has to incapacitate someone before he can possess them. Liam would be considered weak in a one-on-one fight.
Apperance
:
Liam is a short boy, standing about 5’6”. He has untidy, chocolate brown hair that sticks up in all directions. He doesn’t bother to mess with his hair; unless he devotes an obscene amount of time into styling it, it usually doesn’t look any different. His hair color is the exact color of his eyes, which are usually gentle and kind. His eyebrows are slightly thick, and are very animated when he talks. His straight teeth are slightly large, but he has a fantastic smile. His ears are “normal”, so to speak; they don’t stick out like sore thumbs, but they’re not flat to his face, either. Liam is skinny, and he isn’t very muscular. He has a large scar on his back, a permanent result of his abusive father. Not sure if this fits under personality or appearance, but he has a rather charming Scottish accent. Occasionally wears glasses.
Personality
:
Liam is a shy, quiet guy. As an introvert, he prefers to spend his time in a library gaining knowledge than out on a sports field/court. His photographic memory allows him to retain everything he reads and sees, so he is a very intelligent kid. He can also communicate with anyone, since he is an omni-linguist. When he wants to make friends, he usually doesn’t have any difficulty doing so. He is, for the most part, warm and caring, and values his relationships with people with the utmost respect. When he lets someone into his heart and his life, they become a big part of him. He excels in a classroom, as he can absorb information with ease. His intelligence can sometimes come off as being arrogant, but with all that knowledge in his head, it’s hard for him to not correct people sometimes. If someone rubs Liam the wrong way, he can be very cold and stand-offish. He has trust issues because of his past. He prefers to settle conflicts with words rather than violence, but will resort to that if needed. Liam wouldn’t dream of purposely using his power on friends or family. Liam has a constant thirst for knowledge, and his interests seem to be limitless. He has an uncanny ability to take his knowledge and apply it, like his ability to play several musical instruments just by reading how to play them. Even though he is very book-smart and has had a horrible past, he still believes in things like true love
History
:
Liam was born in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland on September 15. His mother and father are human, and he is an only child. He lived a somewhat miserable childhood; his father was the town drunk, and was rather abusive to Liam and his mother. Liam had to grow up watching his father beat his mother, and Liam was usually next in line. During one particularly bad evening, his father hit him with a broken bottle, leaving a large, permanent scar on his back, and irreversible trust issues. Liam’s thirst for knowledge began when he first entered school, and he was a skilled reader even at his earliest years. While his peers would be running around on the playground during school recesses, he would sit under a tree and read. He doesn’t remember when he first realized that he had an eidetic memory, but he does remember the moment he knew he was an omni-linguist: there were some tourists that came to his town, and they were speaking French. Normally, he shouldn’t have known what they were saying, but he understood them perfectly. He went to the library and found books in several different languages, and could read passages in them with ease. He had a good childhood friend named Amelia Kirke, and she was one of the only people Liam forged a relationship with. One day, when Liam and Amelia were 15, they were sitting in the park, and Liam accidentally possessed Amelia, which led him to discover his mutation. Since he didn’t know how to control it, he couldn’t get out of her body without a great deal of difficulty. As a result of his fight to release Amelia, he accidentally killed her. Horrorstricken, Liam ran away from Kirkcaldy, and vowed never to return.
